Entry:

Dear Diary,

Today, Lady decided that it would be fun to take her boyfriend and step-brother to an unstable desert planet. There, they were almost ripped apart by a feral child. Since the planet was, oh, unstable, I couldn’t move location to help them escape. The feral child nearly entered the ship and the only thing that stopped her was Garrd’lumme throwing a piece of roasted turkey at her. After safely leaving the planet, I demanded an explanation from my “infallible captain” as to her reasoning behind entering not only an unsafe area but remaining in said area when there was a clear and pressing danger on the planet. Her response, simply, was: “I thought it would be fun. Don’t give me that look Condie. At least we know to not go back to that planet.” It’s times like these where I want to override manual control and run the ship myself.

End Entry.

Hugh has been asking questions about the man that passes the house. I think he worries I’m going to leave, as if that’s ever been an option. He doesn’t seem to understand the fact I love him, him and Toby. He didn’t change when I turned him, he’s still uncertain, still shy and nervous and quiet. He doesn’t get why I wanted him and I don’t know how to explain it even though I want to. I’ve promised him a hundred times I’m staying, I just wish he’d believe it, even once. It upsets me that he doesn’t.

Toby on the other hand thinks the whole thing is hilarious, he says, and I’m quoting here ‘I’d do him.’ Which is apparently his seal of approval. He has taken to calling me a stalker, if only he knew how long I’d watched them before approaching Hugh. He is oddly supportive though. He brought me wine last night, as I was waiting for him. He told me Hugh would get over it, that he’s just sulking. I suspect he thinks he’s getting a new playmate. He isn’t. ( ... )

“Whatcha doing?”

The irritated wrinkle between Kallian's brows when she looked up from whatever she was writing to see Anders hovering over her desk was priceless. Anders collected these little breaks in his commander's composure, each one a reminder that even the mighty Hero of Ferelden was as fallible as anyone else.

“Writing,” she replied as Ser Pounce-a-lot leaped off Anders' shoulder to sniff at the inkwell on Kallian's desk.

“Obviously. What are you writing?” Anders grinned when she moved to cover the page she was working on. “Ooh, secretive. Is it a love letter? Tell me it's a dirty love letter to that Antivan of yours. Please. I will give you five sovereigns if you say that.”

The furrows on Kallian's brows deepened and the tips of her pointed ears turned pink. “Don't be absurd.”

“So what is it, then?”

Her only response was a deeper flush. Anders felt his curiosity skyrocket - something more embarrassing than naughty letters? Now he had to know ( ... )

Ugh. Gob is asking for money again.
Dear Journal,

Gob is asking for money again. I'm getting sick of it. Incredibly sick of it, actually. It's probably for another of his stupid magic tricks, sorry, "illusions". That's what he calls it anyway. Today I had to fight with him to pay for his banana at the banana stand. I can't believe he conned my son into giving him free bananas because he didn't want "to discuss his finances". It figures he'd even attempt to avoid paying for something like that. He's an absolute idiot. The worst part of all of this is that I think my son actually looks up to him. I gotta do something about that kid's self esteem.

Michael
