“An empty picture frame, Eames. Thank you,” Arthur deadpanned.
Despite the heavy sarcastic tone in Arthur’s voice and the way he frowned at his gift, Eames laughed. “Glad you like it so much.”
Arthur’s voice rose an octave in disbelief as he said, “Like it?”. He waved the frame as if expecting something to rattle in it. “It’s empty. And I hate the color.” He suddenly stopped waving it about and peered closely at a spot on the back. “And you left the price tag on.” He peeled it off and waggled his fingers at Eames, the price tag, stamped with the words ‘on sale’, stuck to them.
