Victoire gripped her boyfriend’s hand tightly; she fell in love with the tumultuous ocean as soon as she sat foot in it, but she didn’t underestimate it’s power to take her away so swiftly that even wand power would do her no good.

“Teddy!” she screamed delightfully as another wave broke before them and shoved them back. Her legs flew from under her, though his hand pulled her up swiftly.

“We hafta go further up so they can break behind us!”

Still coughing up water, she just nodded her hand and half swam after him as he moved them up.

He was right; here they could float with the swell and hear the squeals of the ones behind them who were caught up closer to shore. Occasionally, a wave would break on the couple, but they were tightly latched onto each other’s hand and never allowed the other to be pulled under.

Teddy loved the whimsical look in Victoire’s eyes when they were at the ocean; she loved it’s power that couldn’t even be broken by magic. It could end a wizard’s life just as it could a Muggle’s life.

Here she felt human.

She kept gripping Teddy’s hand tighter.
