I've been having hot flushes for the last wk or so. I've seen a doc today and she booked a blood test to check whether I have a problem with my thyroid. Hopefully not.
First I visited Piccadilly Cirus as I couldn't remember if I had been there or not. Ihe place is filled with gigantic shops of different designer labels. I brought a pair of jeans that were just my height (hooray) from Frech Connection. As they cost quite a bit I decided no more shopping today for me (totally forgetting about Wicked merchandise)!
Then I ate at my fave restaurant in the world :YO SHUSHI! There are 3 places in London I know of where it exists. I went to the one in Harrods 102 store which is an extension of Harrods.
Then it was off to see Wicked! When I didn't realise I would arrive so early so I had time to do other stuff before going to the theatre. As I was coming out of the subway I saw a sign saying Buckingham Palace. I was like: hang on, it's HERE?!!! I looked on the map and it was!!! So I went straight there and took loads of pics.
The palace:

The fountain next to the palace:
The gates next to the palace:
The London Eye which would be seen from there:
Afterwards I went to the threatre. Before I went into the steaing area I brought loads of Wicked merchandise! :D I purchased a programme, the soundtrack (which has all the original boardway cast), a keyring, a purple t-shirt with I love Oz on it in glitter and for the love it had a heart with the post pic in it. :D I also brought a really cool looking mug. Then I went to my seat which was 5 m away from the stage!!! So it didn't matter that it was a little to the left. Wicked was absolutely great!! I loved it so much. In the beginning that was this dragon above the stage moving and then no one mourns the wicked was sang and the story began. Elphaba (the future witch) and her sister Nassarose, who unlike in the book was in the wheelchair instead of having no arms, start at school. Madame Morrible discovers that Elphaba has magical powers and sends her to see the Wizard. Before that happen Fiyero shows up and gets everyone partying. I thought it was funny how Avaric was a servant in the musical where he's was a member of nobility in the book. Loved the dance he did when Fiyero. XD The guy who played Fiyero was hot! She takes Galinda who was a absolutely snob but becomes friends with her after she decides a prank of hers on Elphie went too far. The wizard gets Elphie to make wings grow out of monkies. She realises this causes them pain and takes the Grimmerie (a magic book) from him to stop this kind of thing happening. She goes into hiding in Fyerio's castle. Later she reppears in Nassarose's house and It's revealed Nassarose (who's now inheriated the governess title from her father) has been keeping muchkinlanders in murchkinland to stop Boq leaving her. She makes Nassarose walk. Then Nassarose uses the Grimmerie to make Boq hers, amost kiiling him but he's saved by Elphaba by being made into a tin man. Nassarose tells him it's all her sister's fault. In order to get the witch to show up a tornado is started to kill her sister which works. She's almost captured but Fyerio protects and is hung in a field - turning to a scarecow. Glinda (changed her name to honar a setiment goat who was kidnapped by the wizard for being an animal) realises what's going on and fins Elphie. Elphie refuses help, a curtian is drawn and she melts. :( A green bottle is left behind (like one the wizard has) and Glinda realise he must have been her father. She confronts him and tells him to leave. She takes over as ruler of Oz! :D Now the twist which I didn't expect as in the book Wicked and film (the wiard of Oz) the witch dies, Also there's an extra song sang by Nassarose which isn't in the soundstrack. :S Near the end I could hear really loud crying. It sounded like it was coming from 2 rows ahead and it was not long after Nassarose died so I thought someone was crying over her. It actaully was supposed to be dthoiry trspped under a trap door! so atr the end when the scarecrow opened a trap Dorothy and asked: are you alright?I thought he was probably talking to Dorothy but he wasn't, it was elphaba and she lived! :D :D :D The two left Oz for safety and lived happily ever after! :D
There was a hustle and bustle over the writer of the music and lyrics sitting in the row infront of me but in the middle. He signed my programme. Also the writer of the play was sitting there and she also sighed my programme. Turned out I could only meet actors after evening performances. On the way out I met someone who seat behind him and he said he could hear hie criticism and praises. He also said he brought a poster for him to sign which I didn't see on sale so I brought one which I'll frame. :D
The actors were all superb. I got to see veveryone so close inc Idina. It was so awesome to see her as Elphaba. It like those pics I had seen of her come to life! The actress who played Glinda was very good but had a very strong accent although it didn't show up when she sang. She and the one who played Nassarose behaved just how I imagined they would from listening to the soundtrack. Scenery was just WOW!! Especially when they went to Emerald City! Loved the costumes and the dance moves! :D There is so much more I could say but this entry has gotten long enough. As I had only seen popular, the wizard and I and a little of defy gravity on youtube a lot of it was unexpected. It was interesting to compare the book and the play.
The programme is very interesting. It says there the name Elphaba came from the initials of the author of the wonderful wizard of Oz (L.F.B).

The green background rippled like water.
Yesterday I met Ruth at by the forum (Norwich library) and we looked around shops. Afterwards we watched me, you and Dupee which was really funny. To cut it short a newly married couple have a friend stay over after he loses his job but he's an absolute pain in the neck.
