My new #old #audio #hardware #yamaha #mv802 2u 8 channel stereo #mixer made in #Japan sounds not bad, on Japanese capacitors. Shall I recap? A post shared by Ignät Ḡøräzd (@igunato) on May 31, 2017 at 3:43am PDT
Eventually I’ve run out of inputs of my main mixer, so got extra 8 channel 2u unit Yamaha mixer for connecting 8 channels of Akai sampler in the future. By occasion it was quite cheap to get, this particular model were in my watch list for a while. Looks not that bad on a auction pictures, so I got it in my hands and found out that it is sounds not that bad either. Inside I found neat throu-hole Japanese schematics with famous capacitors, but found no date of production. This is model of year 1986 so re-capping would be beneficial for the sound. I will leave it for later, haven’t figure out yet how to use those Akais in a first place 🙂
Could not make SCSI CD-ROM to work nor connect it by SCSI to old hateful windows computer. Meanwhile practicing and reading manual for my sequencer brings some fruits right now. Kind of lemons or something not very tasty on it’s own, but it is just beginning. Prototyping of workflow and sound sketching. Here we go, check this out, but not judge seriously
