Having just passed the 1/3rd mark of Anti-Climax, chapter 3, I thought I'd provide a teaser. I'm not very happy with this particular scene.; There's another (Tails and Eliza) scene I'm considering teasering, but I think it might be a bit much... If you want it, say so, and I'll try to figure out some way to get it to you.
In other news, I utterly adore this song. The organ parts of it, particularly. So completely Locke's theme. SEXY SCARY ORGANS.

”Cat” as he had been dubbed after his initial discovery of the entry, curled up on the fox’s shoulders. He sent Eliza a smug look, which she didn’t see, as she was busy examining the map.
“You’re a good boy, Cat.” Tails said fondly, keeping his eyes on the smaller child. She kept her attention on the map, ignoring him and his badnik pet.
”You found the entrance when Miss Know-It-All couldn’t,” he went on, louder. The girl snorted and started walking. He followed, smirking.
They descended into silence as they walked. The base was empty, and eerily quiet. He felt his good mood slipping away the further in they went.
”It looks abandoned,” he commented.
”Scared?” he felt, rather than saw her grin.
”Of course not!” he retorted quickly, walking faster to match her pace, “It’s just weird, that’s all!”
”The entrance is back the other way if you want to go home.”
”I’m not scared!” he repeated loudly. She turned to face him, and the amusement was gone from her face.
”Keep your voice down!” she hissed quietly, “We might-“
The floor suddenly gave out beneath them.
It happened so quickly. Before they even had a chance to react, they were falling. He gasped aloud, and she did too- but before either of them could even consider screaming, they had hit the ground.
It was very dark. Tails took a few moments to let his eyes adjust, but Eliza had no such notion. He heard her stand and begin stumbling around.
Even after his eyes adjusted, it was difficult to see. He let his hands rove about, eventually coming to settle on a wall. He stood.
”Lee?” he whispered.
”I’m here,” she responded after a moment. There was a clanking noise, and the fox’s heart skipped a beat.
”Lee?” panic began to rise in his voice, “Was that you?”
No answer.
The lights came on suddenly, and Miles jumped.
There were empty tubes everywhere, and the light - lime green in colour - focused only on them.
Tails, however, was more interested in his friend. The catterkiller on his shoulders, silent and all but forgotten, didn’t move. Tails saw the young Guardian some feet away, standing completely still.
”Eliza!” he squeaked, “Someone turned on the lights! We’re not alone, We-“
She didn’t even seen to hear him. He ran up to her, and shook her soundly by the shoulders.
She then looked up at him, looking lost and frightened. Her eyes were widened dramatically, reminded him of a deer caught in headlights… He had never seen her like that.
”Miles…” he was going to remind her that he didn’t like to be called that, but the panic in her voice stopped him short.
”Miles… look…” she gestured around her with a shaky arm.
”Look at this horrible place…” Her voice was tiny and weak, and now there was a knot forming in his stomach.
Slowly, he complied, and it was then that he noticed that the tubes were not empty at all.
They all had people in them.
