[art] and thoughts on Merlin
So I just caught up with Merlin (just started airing third season in the UK) and I gotta say, it is awesome. wtf is up with imdb? it's failing at links :/.
a quick one of Merlin; the likeness is off but I like bits and pieces of it anyway. mmm, white on black <3. Also, Colin Morgan (Merlin) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) could srsly be brothers or something, what with those fantastic cheekbones o_o.
and here's Guinevere, who I love in this show. She's pretty, but kind of plain, especially next to Morgana. No joke, I actually drew that in 15 minutes! *beams*
I've figured out why I like the show so much, other than the blatant slashable destiny themes (they must've said "two sides of one coin" about Arthur and Merlin a bajillion times) and general BBC wonderful corniness and moments of brilliant writing. Why I love it is: Merlin is Remus Lupin (shy, bookish, desperately hiding a secret, deeply loyal) and Arthur is basically Sirius-without-a-James (spoiled rich kid, a bit of a bully, stubborn and loyal to a fault), and I love that character dynamic where trust is the major point of conflict between them (that's also why I love White Collar so much). Also, the kid who plays Merlin is cute as hell and an effing amazing actor, especially in the latter half of the second season, where he's crying in practically every episode. *squishes*
Anyway, the first season's streaming on Netflix if you swing that way, and the torrents are jumpin now the new season's started if you swing that way, so you should check it out!
