Rachel doesn't take long in putting things in the box. They hadn't accumulated too much together yet. Work things from the desk, her pretty embroidered shawl... Her hand shook, then she balled it up and threw it back on the couch. So what if she never got to Prague again? The bitchsnake had fallen asleep under *her* shawl. In went her Swarovksi glass flower, her paper flowers from David, her hockey dvds... She'd give those to Rodney. Breathing deeply and pointedly *not* looking at the balcony, she forced herself to go to the door to the bedroom. Carson was putting Radek's clothes in the box as Rodney clutched Morena's case. Morena... Please, Lady, don't let Radek do anything foolish... He promised... She shook her head a little and looked at him.
"I want my wedding dress." She went to the closet and got the voluminous gown, draping it over her arm. After a moment, she also grabbed a peasant blouse and jeans, and a gorgeous thick handknit green shawl. Draping those over her arm too, she caresses the soft wool for a moment. "I was wearing this the first time he kissed me. He was wearing those black pants and that maroon silk shirt." Rae looked up and smiled at Rodney. "Then I told him if he wanted anything more, he had to go clear it with all of you, and I sent him home. Good thing, hm?"
Carson went over and gently took the clothes from her, grabbing a handful of hangers as well. he carefully folded them into a box. "That explains why he wore that to the wedding, love. That's the one outfit he wanted to be certain we retrieved." Ah, that made her smile. Good.
Rae smiled at Carson. It was comforting to know that, to hear that Radek still wanted something that was meaningful to the both of them. She carefully took the pillowcases off his and John's pillows, blushing when she looked back. "Radek... and John... It still smells like them." Carson flashed her a knowing look and finished with the boxes, piling them on the cart. She glanced at the windowsill. Her face drained of color except for two high spots on her cheeks to see a small plant, wilted in its pot and drying in the filtered light. "That bitch..."
Fists clenched at her side as a few angry tears slipped down her cheeks. Carson was at her side in an instant, his arms around her. Fury was tight in her voice. "Even after all that mess with Kavanagh in the beginning... David was so kind and forgiving. I rewired the growlights in their labs for more efficient and predictable output, and he thanked me by naming the first flower to bloom after me. Viola Rachealis, he called it. He gave me that one, and we weren't even friends yet..." She looked over at Rodney from where she shook a little in Carson's arms. "I want Ba'al to suffer."
Carson's arms tighten around her as he looks over at his husband. "Rodney, love, why don't you take that thing to our rooms? I'll make sure our wife gets out of here soon. I'll take her things ta your room, then bring Radek's things and come get you." He looks down into Rachel's face and wipes away her tears. "Is that alright, love? We'll go, and I and Rodney will stay with ye tonight? John can see Radek, and we'll keep ye safe and warm, if Rodney doesna' mind."
Rodney closes his eyes, trying to spare her the rage he knows is in them. His eyes have always told others what he's feeling and thinking. Windows to the soul indeed. It's why he sucks at lying.
Which is why he only nods when Carson tells him to go on. He pauses long enough to say, "You can use my private rooms, Rachel. For as long as you need. Consider anything in there yours."
Rodney adjusted his grip on the case then left the room. As he passes Rachel, Rodney leaned down to kiss her cheek and whispered, "Love you."
Carson watches as Rodney takes the rifle out of the suite. Warmth fills his heart as Rodney kisses Rachel's cheek and admits his feelings. At least that can still light her eyes a little... He turns back to Rae, still in his embrace, and holds her tighter for a moment. Now's the time for practicality, for being the down-to-earth man he always is for others. "Right then, love, finish putting your things in the box and we'll get you out of here. We'll come back for any housewares you might want when you find something later."
Rae nodded and pulled back. She rummaged around, putting some more clothes and personal items in the boxes on the cart, then just stood there, hands at her sides. Carson leaned over from where he stood and kissed her gently. "Come on, love, let's go."

Then he left for the group suite with Morena.
