imitations of immortality
Today I am a quarter of a century old.
I am older than many regimes and French Constitutions. While some people get freaked by that, I love this feeling. Life sucks right at this moment; but, you know, in general, my life is pretty good. I have accomplished almost all of my life goals. I have a house, an education, a dog. A job and a family of my making us all I need to complete the set. I have changed people's lives by helping them get their G.E.D. I have seen a quarter of a century of movies, read books, eaten dishes. If this is what I have done in a quarter, what could I do with half? Today, I feel powerful, lasting, damn near unkillable. It's just a feeling. I'm sure tomorrow I will be mortal again, but today, I am a golden god.
