Ah, Doug's mother died just the other day. (Doug is my pastor if anyone wants to know.) I went to her wake. She didn't look one bit dead; it was very strange. Also, Terri Schiavo died today. Her evil husband had her killed for her money. I just can't believe how America could let this happen.
Other than those two deaths, I've had a good time since the last entry. I just hope that I can graduate on time.
A poem from me:
There are heroes and tyrants changing our lives.
And there are traitors and haters wielding concealed knives.
There are those who no longer strive to be alive,
But if you would give them a simple smile would survive.
Fair their lives would be
If a joyous change would come about within you and me.
Depression’s fatal smoke can be conquered with a joke.
Laughing instead of coughing; in the hearts of man it will soak.
And if you didn’t know,
Joy comes from giving God your soul,
He fills it up with joy, love, and hope
To help you be joyful and not to mope!
When the tyrant of hate and depression,
Starts with its tremendous oppression,
Raise up your guard and strike it with all you hold.
Show it the power within that is sure-gold.
For boldness beats the coldness around and within;
Despite the despair of the women and men.
Stand for the truth when into lies it dissolves.
Courage it may take and power it involves!
And when the hate is so strong,
And you’ve done nothing wrong,
When hurt is pouring down your drain,
Look to God, my boy, who brings love from the rain.
When you have gotten that far several times and again,
Many souls will come right out from hiding under sin.
There you will be with lives turning from loss to victory,
For by joy God used you, and you can say, “He used me!”
And if now you ever lose your joy,
Those people you touched will help you, my boy.
