No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!
Still on LJ - barely. I do go on to read posts a couple times a day, but for the most part I'm on FB. I post LOTS of images and astronomy/science stuff on there, so if you haven't friended me yet - so so (as Richard Jakiel).
As for a quick update, I've been imaging mostly planets this summer and hope to start churning out more deep sky stuff this fall. During August, I drove up to Springfield, VT (+1170 miles, one way) for a two-week vacation. My old college GF lives there (after 25 years, she's now divorced and has 4 kids, ages 15 to 23..) and we traveled to the White Mountains (NH) , Maine and a couple days in the high peaks area of the Adirondacks. I finally attended
Stellafane, the oldest and one of the largest star parties in the USA. Think +1300 ppl attending a 'stargazing commune' to the heavens. Very neat stuff!
Other updates - we have a new cat, a black Manx kitten named Sidney, aka "Demon Cat" or "Little Fucker". A devilish little beast full of allergens, he loves to hang out and play with the much larger and paternal PC (Shadow Kitty wasn't amused..).
Other new pets - a leopard Gecko named "Art", a batch (8 left..) of baby emperor Scorpions (they are now 1.5 to 2-inches long, momma is +7 inches.).
Peektures
Saturn..
A crescent Venus..
Jupiter..
OK, I promise, to make more posts and pictures on a semi-regular basis.
