Fourth of July Weekend Update
Well, its been a good two weeks since my last post. I had run low on the SHINY and nothing of real note was going on at Mars House. But the long Holiday Weekend did the doctor *good*. Not only did I have 5 days off (!), but we had the ever-awesome
daughterofodhin (aka "Wulfie") up for a holiday visit. It was a true geek weekend, with visits to the local state park (Sweetwater), the Tellus Museum (Sunday), the
awakenedwarrior's mead tasting party (Saturday) and even the old doc dusted off his GM skills for some classic AD&D play ( v.2 - not that stupid 'reboot' crap).
The only real down side was that it rained almost every day and the nights were mostly cloudy and/or hazy, which was bad for observing of the SHINY.
And now, some SHINY weekend pictures.
A couple from Sweetwater Creek State Park:
The Georgia Cruiser (Dragonfly)
Say 'hello' to Mr. Toad
A Slaty Skimmer
The "Wulfie" checking out all the cool mineral SHINY at Tellus..
What was her favorite mineral? Why, Wulfenite of course!
The huge ancient turtle Protostega would make a cool-assed pet..
Even the Doc had his picture taken. Is this the look of fear, constipation or just plain old grumpiness?
By Tuesday morning, everyone was in 'recovery mode'. All except PC and ShadowKitty.
Here we see PC watching a nice, fat bunny on "Cat TV".
More SHINY to come!
