Imaging 101
First, my latest image of the Whirlpool Galaxy or M51:
Taken at the MidSouth Star Party - under 'heavy dew' conditions. 8-inch f/4, Canon 1000D - 9 x 5 minute exposures at 1600 ISO.
Here was a similar attempt at M51 taken last year:
Same telescope & camera, same star party. The difference - a *much better* tracking mount (less blurry - tighter stars), plus better software and improved image processing skills.
