Crazy Imaging Weekend

Can we say a metric fuckton images?

I knew you could.

So many in fact, that I'm STILL processing them. That's what happens when you have 3 nearly Moonless nights to image. I have images of Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, several galaxies, a galaxy cluster, open star clusters and all manner of weird-ass (and beautiful) nebulae.

Let's start out with some "red" nebulae.

The "Medusa Nebula" - in Gemini.

8-inch f/4, Canon 1000D (modified), 12 x 5 minute exposures.

NGC 2174-5

(8-inch f/4 Astrograph, Canon 1000D, 12 x 5 minute exposures.

This nebula is sometimes called the "monkey head nebula". What do you think?

Much, much more to come....

:-)
