On being "Swamp Wise"
Down in Georgia, there is a local PBS series called Swampwise featuring "Okefenokee Joe". Its a quaint, even somewhat corny series - but well worth a watch if you're ever down in Georgia and want to get an idea what a the great swamp is all about.
These images were taken on Sunday morning at Laura S. Walker State Park - located on the NE side of the Great Okefenokee Swamp.
A Great Egret
A majestic and beautiful marsh/swamp bird, well over 3' tall.
Palomedes Swallowtail
This HUGE butterfly liked the wet woodlands bordering the swamps.

One of several species of Dragonfly that I managed to image.
