In just over a week, it has gone from Winter snows, spring wildflowers and now summer-like temperatures. It is expected to reach near 80 degrees F today, under bright sunny skies. After being totally stumped from *any* decent Saturn imaging last week (horrible atmospheric turbulence) - the forecast this evening is for clear and steady skies.
With luck, I'll capture some decent images of the nearly edge-on ringed giant.
But I seriously doubt that *any* image of mine now or in the near future will be as good as the one under the cut. It was taken a few days ago by British planetary imager Damien Peach, arguably the world's best amateur imager. This extraordinary photograph is a combination of high end equipemnt, pristine (stable) skies and superb processing technique.

If this doesn't generate numerous comments and Shadow kitty scritches - nothing will.
(And yes, the doctor is a bit disappointed on how few comments my SHINY posts have been generating of late..)
