Swearing is as hold as the spoken word (or so I assume). People swear to emphasise a point, to threaten, under stress, in excitement or in annoyance - that is to say that people swear at almost anything.
Now I'm not immune to occasional profane outburst myself but I've never been one to use a swear word as a substitute or addition to other adjectives. I used to think that most people shared this view but I'm beginning to wonder. It seems that people like swearing for no apparent reason. Why do we need to swear so much, surely it belittles the value of the swear if its used everywhere. So I suggest to you all that rather than us all becoming walking examples of Tourette's syndrome, we cut down on the verbal expletives and if we must, say them in our heads so that when the time is right, the words have that extra oomph to them.
Aint that the shit.
