Rae sat on the couch, a cup of tea on the coffe table next to her laptop. She made a final few notes, then sat back, blowing her hair out of her face. Just then, the door opened. She looked up and smiled brightly as Radek came in.

She sleeps so much now, their first non-sickness sign of her pregnancy, and John adores every lazy second of watching her, mossy green eyes closing slowly into sleep, the way her mouth parts as her breath evens. The way her still-flat abdomen rises and falls so easily, proof that all is well. He's found such peace in listening to her breathe, such comfort.

"mmmh" he murmurs quietly, drawing patterns on her abdomen, the soft silk pooling around his fingers. "s'gonna be nice, knowing some things ahead of time...but I bet you and she'll part on some things...there's only one of my Rae, she's not you, not really."

he says this all in a soft, rumbling-low voice, intent on the patterns at his fingertips.

"perfect" he says in agreement, and he knows she'll understand. "he's me, isn't he? 'course he's right" John rolls his head to the side, cheek against her belly, and smiles boyishly.

"as for any Davans, I've got a plan to do through background checks on every child on Atlantis from now on....just to be safe, or we can just keep ours at home until he....she....they're 18. That's an idea."
