Rae sat on the couch, a cup of tea on the coffe table next to her laptop. She made a final few notes, then sat back, blowing her hair out of her face. Just then, the door opened. She looked up and smiled brightly as Radek came in.

//Mily! You're home early!//

Radek walked over to the couch and leaned down to kiss Rae before sitting on the over end. //Rezavy. Yes. There was slight problem in labs today. Security thought it safest to send us home.// He frowned slightly as he looked around. //Isn't Rodney home yet?//

She licked her lips after the kiss. //No, he's holed up in the power room. running fluctuation scans. I'm sure he's sealed himself in so no one bothers him, anyway.// She scooted closer, cuddling next to him. //Mmmm. Will you write Zora and your parents to tell them our news? I'm sure Rodney will want to tell Jeannie. Although she'll probably just swamp him with advice.// Rae grinned, imagining Rodney overwhelmed with "intimate" information about pregnancy.

Radek nodded, grinning. //Ah, then we will likely not see him until tomorrow. I hope he took some MREs with him.//

He pulled Rae into his arms when she scotted over and settled his hands over the slight bump of her belly. //Zora, yes, of course. My parents...// His voice took on a whiney tone reminiscent of Rodney. //...must I, my heart? Can I not entrust Zora to pass on the news? Please?//

Imagining the woman they met in Vancouver giving Rodney advice after hearing about the baby, Radek would have fallen from the couch laughing if Rae hadn't all but been in his lap. //Oh yes, very amusing to imagine. If Rodney does not tell her, can I?//

Rae almost purred when Radek's hands settled over her stomach. She couldn't wait until they could feel him or her move... //Beloved... you need only write a short note. After all, your father seemed to like me once I told him off. And the news will delight your mother. Besides...// She glanced up at him. A sly look came into her eyes as she played on his male pride and old world sensibilities. //Wouldn't it feel rather like you're saying 'Look, no matter what you thought, I have a good job and a family I can take care of'? I would think you wouldn't mind telling him that.//

She laughed along with him. //Of course. Although I want to see the look on his face when she writes him.// She turned a little and pressed a warm kiss to his collarbone before settling against his chest, Radek's heartbeat strong beneath her ear. //I hope you're happy, my heart. I love you so much...//

Radek eyed her sternly and shook his finger at her. //Do not think I don't know what you are doing, my Rezavy.// Kissing her, he sighed. //Fine. I will write to them, but you will explain why their grandchild does not look like them, but their son's 'best friend' when we pay them visit after child's birth.//

He giggled and tightened his arms around her gently. //And I love you, my Rezavy, and I am very happy.//

Rae smirked, tring to look innocent and failing miserably. //My love! Green eyes and crazy hair run in my family, didn't you figure that out? And my father was quite a bit taller than my mother. Not that they will see that for some time.//

She snuggled against her beloved. //Mmmm. My husband. My dearest, sweetest love.// She giggled. //My Chief Engineer.//
