All in for vindication?

[OOC: Directed towards doctorhouse_tm, though is open to all for comments; "you" is used in the general term, not specified term.]Everyone screws up once in a while. If you're a doctor, it's going to happen -- there's no way of avoiding it. You either screw up because you missed something, or because you ran out of time, or you misjudged something. Or, perhaps, ( Read more... )

Cuddy noticed the distracted way in which the young man talked. She tried to listen with patience, though she couldn't help the look of incredulity that crept across her face. She wanted to ask flat-out what House had done -- he must have done something big to warrant this young man calling her. Though, whatever it was that House did... Cuddy wondered why she hadn't received any complaints earlier. And, really, this kid hadn't even really complained. Not to the point that any breach of ethical practice had occured on House's part, and with the reputation House had, nothing really surprised her anymore.

"Right, I see," she patiently replied, smiling down the phone again, as though smiling professionally would help her to remain professional. "I gathered as much from what you told me the last time we spoke."

She paused, wondering exactly how she could help this kid, if he was phoning her about House. If it was about House at all.

She decided to ask point-blank. "Are you phoning me regarding Dr. House?"

[OOC: Sorry for taking so long to reply. I got called away from the 'puter.]

[no promblemo]

"Um..."

Tony draws the 'um' out to buy himself time. It's possible he's thinking about this too hard. He won't be graded on his answer. But he will be judged. And possibily charged with something? No. Dr. House will be possibly charged with something.

"Well. Yes, because he...treated me, and yeah: moo-ed at me. But, um, it's not exactly a complaint about him? Because I asked for the prescription and he gave it to me, so he did his job. And it was my fault for asking for...what I asked for."

But then surely there was some other medication the doctor could have suggested? The Depo was chosen for it's ability not to alarm his parents. An 'it's my girlfriend's' would have explained it away without any fuss. Although then they'd probably want to meet her. Canada he'd tell them. She lives in Canada. It's hard to keep the stories straight in person and Tony has a feeling even that wouldn't have made Pam back off.

"I understand some people like a funny doctor, but this sort of is...personal. Why, is he in trouble?"

Cuddy honestly didn't understand the man's train of thought. She frowned, trying to make sense of what he was talking about.

"Wait, let me get this straight," Cuddy began, ignoring Tony's question about whether House was in trouble or not. "You're saying that Dr. House moo'ed at you. But you're not complaining about him." Cuddy took a moment to make sure she had that right before she continued, "You're saying he did his job, even though he moo'ed at you..."

Nope. She still didn't follow. She'd originally been under the impression that Tony had wanted to talk to her about House possibly humiliating him, but it seemed that wasn't the case at all. It seemed that way, anyway.

She looked puzzled. "Alright," Cuddy went on to say after a second of giving up trying to work out what Tony was on about. "What was your fault for asking what you asked for?"

Tony glances around to make sure no one is listening. But dad is at work and mom is working on her tan in one of those booths that are supposed to be less dangerous than the real sun. She's the kind of woman who places a small heart shaped sticker on her ass before tanning so the imprint is left after as a special surprise for her husband. Or whoever.

"Am...I in trouble?" Tony asks.

He wonders if he should make something up again. The Depo was for a girlfriend. A cousin? His cousin who was staying with him and then, whoops, he tripped and fell on the needle. Why is the truth always more embarrassing than fiction?

"The, uh, side effects are my fault. I read up on them, but I figured they wouldn't apply."

Since Tony doesn't technically have a period, or anything.
