In the living room he sat, rocking the crimson easy chair. Laying back his head, he sighed and closed his eyes. He drifted off, freeing his mind of the tide of problems caused by the issue at hand. His Phone rang, ripping him out of a peaceful safe place, into the problems of the world. He reached for the phone on the mahogany table and flipped it open.
“Hello?”
“It’s Mary.”
“Oh.”
“I’m going now. I want you to be there.”
“You know how I feel about this.”
“Please? For me?”
“Alright, I’ll go.”
“Thank you.”
“Good bye.”
He Closed the phone and put it in his pocket. He put his head in his hands and sighed. He stood and grabbed his keys, and walked out the door, closing it and locking it. He got in the car and backed out of the drive way. As he drove the sun threw red across the sky, the clouds became immersed in it. As he pulled into the parking lot he looked at all of the people around, they were all filled with emotion. He parked and got out of the car. He walked inside, looked around at the people sitting and sat down close to the door to wait.
His phone buzzed in his pocket, he opened it.
“Hello?”
“It’s me again, Sorry about being late”
“Oh it’s ok.”
“I’m at Grangerford and Houston, ill be there in a few min….”
He heard a wrenching metal against metal sound and a short scream.
“Marie? Marie, are you there?”
He ran out to his car, jumped in it and started to drive towards the intersection. He hit traffic about a 2 miles away from the intersection. He took a minute to Park the car in a 7-11 parking lot and he ran to the intersection, by he time he reached it there were emergency vehicles all around. He ran towards the postmodernist mesh of metal that was once Marie’s Pinto. When he reached it, he saw she wasn’t inside it and went to the nearest EMS Personnel .
“What Happened to the Woman that was in the Pinto?” He asked almost violently.
“She was taken to County General, about 5 miles down Houston.”
“Thank you sir.”
He took off running towards the hospital, By the time he got there it was half an hour later. He ran into the ER and up to the Nurse’s desk.
“Was this the woman from the car crash down the street was taken?” He asked.
“Are you family?”
“yes” He paused “I’m her fiancé.” He lied.
“She’s back in trauma, I’ll take you back”
The Nurse lead him back to the trauma room and said “have a seat, a doctor will be with you in a minute.”
Eventually a doctor came out. “I have some bad news” he said.
“What’s wrong?”
“We couldn’t save her, I’m sorry.”
“What about the baby?” He asked.
“she’s up in Neo-Natal ICU, I must warn you she has a very low chance of surviving.”
“Take me to her”
The Doctor lead him to the NICU and to The Infants area, the doctor left him alone, he sat down and let out a sigh of relief.

(Tell me what you think of it)
