Work? No, I gave that up as a New Year's Resolution.

Jan 04, 2010 11:10

It's my first day back in the office since the holidays. 6:00am comes just as early as it used to. Cold mornings with hard wood floors just make it so much harder to get out of bed. It didn't help that it was 10 degrees out when I left for work (wind chill of -4).

I'm sitting here now, and not doing anything. I'm drinking my coffee and playing on the internet (as can be witnessed by my posting this). Since the year is over, and we hit our numbers (yay. go team. bonuses for the bigwigs), there isn't much happening right now. My boss wants me to do some ridiculous report, but I think my counterpart, Tim, has all the info and can do it a hell of a lot quicker than me. He just happens to be out of the office all week because his wife just had a baby before Christmas. I'm sure he can get around to it between changing diapers and feeding. I kid, I kid. I just need some data from him. Until then, this project isn't getting off the ground.

It looks like it's about time to go get lunch. I feel like an old man eating at 11:00am, but I've got conference calls almost solid from noon to 2:30pm. At least it gives me something to do. Okay, gotta cut this short just because I've got a limited lunch window, and someone's waiting on me. He'll be over here soon tapping his watch and giving me hell.

Ah, looks like Tim has a break from the baby. Now there will be work for me all afternoon.

I knew I should have made "Win millions of dollars in the lottery" a New Year's Resolution.
