MCA #4 - Halloween Bash - Sunday Evening.

Oct 29, 2006 11:09

As day began to give itself over to night, the door to #4 Mauvaise Chance Apartments stood open and inviting. The door frame had been decked out with faux pillars with the words Casino Hallow’s Eve over the top. Light music and the sound of voices could be heard pouring out the door, letting people know they were in the right place ( Read more... )

The main body of the apartment, the open living room and dinning room were done in a more normal shade of lightening. It was not overly bright here but warm and inviting as lamps hung from the ceiling over top various casino games. People had a choice of Roulete, Caribbean Poker, Craps, or Black Jack.

People could pick up a tray of, chocolate casino chips just inside the door for their playing pleasure. They would also find each set of tables manned by these creepy fellows. The figures remained motionless until someone came up to play then a bit of the 'angel’s miracle work' brought them to life to spin the roulette wheel, deal the cards or rake the dice.

[ooc: And by 'come to life' we mean really life like. They don't speak, which might be even creepier.]

Parker picked up some casino chips, and went straight to the roulette table. "Black 27."

The dealer, who seemed to be just your simple inanimate Halloween decoration, smoothly came to life.

It said nothing at all but reached for the marble with bony fingers and set it to spinning on the little wheel. In short order, the marbled bumped and bounced into place...

Black, 27.

The dealer grinned at Parker...well, being a skull it was always grinning so perhaps it was simply looking at her to see if she placed another bet.

Parker chortled gleefully, and folded her arms. "Let it ride."

Jarod, dressed all in black and wearing an eye mask, watched Parker from his spot in the shadows. Nice to know she'd recovered so easily.

Parker adjusted her headband, and leaned over the roulette wheel, tapping her fingers and wheedling the the game. "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, 27, you know you want to...."

He watched the action, but more specifically watched Parker coax the roulette wheel into doing her bidding. Time to see if it would dance to her tune, like he had for so long.

The wheel landed on 27.

"Yes!" Arms raised in victory, Parker spun in place. Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw someone in the shadows as she danced.

After collecting her winnings, she turned around to see who it was.

Jarod smirked. It figured--noone and nothing resisted Parker for long. When Parker turned, he moved quickly to slip out of her line of sight.

Someone was heading out the door, but she couldn't see who. Hmm.

Niiiice costume and better body, from what she could see, though. She cocked her head for a moment, and made a mental note to find whoever-it-was before she left the party.

Jane looked around the "casino". There weren't any pharaoh tables, the Caribbean poker doesn't look like the poker she's used to.

Craps was that new game they had at the Bella Union... Joanie had taught her how to play it.

Maybe she'd try that.

A spooky figure floated at the head of the table, holding the rake but otherwise looking still and for the moment, uninteresting.

With a clenched-tooth grimace, Rosette agreed. "Yeahhhhh...." She was also resisting the urge to poke it.

"Well, you put your chips down on the pass or don't pass line." Jane said putting a few chips down.

"And then... We find the dice..."

Rosette nodded, although she didn't understand a word of that, and just emulated what Jane did, despite her reluctance to give up the chips once she found out they were candy.

"Dice, dice, who's got the dice?" she muttered, looking around.
