I don't fancy having to pay rent in a high-density residence. Better to have my own place somewhere off the beaten path.
In part. Another reason is because the human body consists of enormous numbers of non-human microbes, and while the majority of these are not dangerous (and some we cannot live without), there's always a slim chance of something going wrong. My proposal to the hospital was to follow up on the Human Microbiome Project by studying the effects of highly sterile environments and other things on human flora. For example, staphylococcus aureus can live on the skin and is generally not a problem until the normal barriers such as epidermis. It can cause some problems without help and can be treatable, but in a highly sterile environment such as hospitals it can develop strains that are resistant to antibiotics. I am interested in exploring this effect on other human-carried microbes so as to predict and prevent a MRSA-like outbreak (multiple-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, strains that had evolved from poor sanitation practices by the ignorant or exhausted in hospitals and other health care settings. Similar effects are found in resistant strains of bacteria that have developed in people who do not take their full regime of antibiotics).
Of course, the proposal itself was over thirty pages long and made the administrator's eyes glaze over a few times, but that's the gist of it.
I don't know everything. This is why I can't, in good faith, refer to myself as a genius and must pretend to be smarter than I am until I do know everything.

I'm sorry, that made my eyes glaze over too, but I'm sure it's fascinating! :D;

That's okay, I'm used to inducing that effect. Very good for making people think I'm smarter than I really am.

You're a genius, how much smarter can people think you are?
