This goes up there with your explanation of the independence of "livingness" and "deadness" as a work of pure genius.

Some points I'd like to add:

-Thousands of people are killed every year by the moon's ongoing attempts to subvert our oceans and to turn water against us.

-Your reference to Transformers is quite apt. Transformers has long advocated the view that moons are evil and must be destroyed before they can destroy us. Unicron, in general, personifies this, but there are more specific examples. In Beast Wars, the Earth is depicted as originally having two moons, with the second one being a disguised super-cannon whose sole intent is to destroy the Earth. This moon was destroyed in the nick of time, but one is left wondering what terrible purpose the other, remaining moon exists to serve. In Transformers Armada it is revealed that Cybertron's moon is actually the long-slumbering and disguised Unicron, who awakens with the twin intents of devouring Cybertron and then the rest of the universe. In short, Transformers has it more right than most people realize.

The moon must be stopped before it is able to destroy the earth.

Yes, I have LJ (and a few select forums) spamming my Gmail account in this manner. (But, shhh, don't let the moon know.)
