Help with the itunes video

Okay, I bought it (awhile ago) but only recently have tried to burn it to my computer...so that I can do fun things like make animations or what have you.  Only, I can't get it to convert.  I have downloaded a video converter and it gives me an error code which I assume has something to do with Itunes being so picky.   I see that not only have the songs been uploaded but people are making fan videos, so I know it can be done.  Will someone tell me how?
