Hiawatha the Peacemaker
This is a page from THE MAID OF THE MIST, a 1954 comic sold at Niagara Falls*. I'm a little surprised to read that Hiawatha is considered to have been a real person in an historical sense, I'd always thought of him as a mythic figure like King Arthur or Aeneas. (And how I regret trying to read Longfellow's poem back in college... for days, everything I saw I heard in that meter.)
