Kind of hard to believe now, but the annual Fall Preview issue of TV GUIDE was an exciting event. It had pictures and brief descriptions of upcoming network shows. Of course, DVDs and services like HULU made these rather obsolete. But for decades, you'd walk into almost anyone's house and, on the couch or on top of the television itself, would be the little digest-sized TV GUIDE.
