This is from that epic "The Origin of the Justice League" in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA# 9, February 1962. Written by Gardner Fox, art by Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs. Now, Silver Age comics (even more than today) regarded the laws of physics as mere suggestions. You know. "Maybe you shouldn't create matter out of nothing, perhaps inertia would keep you from doing that." Here, as many times before and since, the Man of Steel throws textbooks out the window.
