Date Night {RP Thread for Abby}
This morning during a routine surgery Lee casually mentions he and Abby have run out of babysitters for Lily, what with Neela still recuperating and Sophia not relishing the task any longer. It's entirely intentional on his part, and as he suspected, Shirley offers to watch the baby almost immediately. Childcare in place, the chief spends the rest of his day happily preoccupied planning an evening out with his wife.
They are sorely overdue for a night out, for some fun. Between their own personal angst and the added stressors of both work and trying to be supportive of Sophie, Lee hasn't been able to find the motivation or the time to start really trying to make amends for his transgressions. He's hoping that some time away from it all will be a small step in the right direction.
Around midday he calls Abby's cell phone, leaving her a message to expect him home on time. He also adds that it would be nice if she were dressed to go out. Casual...but nice. He can't quite keep the fact that he's smiling out of his voice as he leaves the recorded request, hoping she'll humor him and be ready when he shows up with Shirley in tow.
