http://stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov/img/stereoimages/movies/transit_label_large.mov The video above is a collection of images from a lunar transit across the sun that were put together from a camera on one of two solar satellites in the same orbit as the earth. They were captured to calibrate the camera using the blackness of the back lit moon. The quite unintentionally result is one one of the most beautiful renderings of our sun and moon ever seen. Nasa plans on using the satellites to study the sun in 3-d and will probably be able to create 3-d images/videos with the cameras on the two stereo satellites. I, personally, can't wait to see what more Nasa will be able to give us.
