House had been home for less than a week, and he still didn’t feel like he’d settled.

All the time in the rehab center - he didn’t want to admit it, but he found himself getting accustomed, if not dependant on the routine, even if he wasn’t exactly sticking to his drug rehab regimen. It was the getting up at a certain hour, having food at a certain hour, having things allocated at certain times; and now he was home and out of that environment.

He was sprawled on his sofa, watching the television with his bad leg propped up on the arm rest of the sofa while his other leg was dangling off the side. He was waiting for Cuddy, who said she was going to stop by. To drop off the money she owed him, or so she said. He thought that was odd - that she wasn’t going to give him the money at work. But, ah well. It was just going to be a case of her giving him the money and then leaving again. And he’d be at least $100 up on cash. So, it was a win-win situation.

He stretched across to the coffee table with a grunt for the remote, and then started to aimlessly fire through the channels. God, there was nothing on.

He hoped Cuddy would damn well hurry up.
