That is sad. He is my favorite member of smap too! ;__; Corey and I say that if Corey had a japanese twin it would be him. He has such an angular face like Corey. ^_^ Yeah, I agree with you that it really is an over reaction. I was just thinking as I was reading it, our celebrities do far worse and they really don't face much consequences except maybe from the tabloids (which most normal people don't care or believe anyways) I feel bad too. I hope things get better for him. Maybe he can hope some other star does something worse to take the focus of him? *shrug*
MAN! I KNEW HE LOOKED LIKE SOMEBODY I KNEW! Thank you for putting that to rest! They do look almost like estranged brothers....from other mothers....or something XD. But yeah, poor Tsuyoshi! I really really hope it doesn't affect the band too badly. I can't imagine Japanese TV without them! (Honestly, you should see how often they're on!) But yeah, I didn't know you liked SMAP! I like Masahiro the best because he's loud and obnoxious, haha.
hahha funny you mention it...that is pretty much how Corey and I became friends. I asked him his favorite Japanese artists and he said SMAP. I was like ZOMG!!! I didn't know ANYONE back then who knew who they were (this was 2002)and I was a fan of their shoujo ribbon series OP, which then we also found out we had in common. Which then lead to when we started dating we made our song Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana because everything about it really reminds us of each other & it was SMAP's big song that had just came out. It will be our first dance when we are married (the organ version).I have a fondness for "Dear Woman". When I hear that song all I can think of is Ouran Host Club. I think it would have made a perfect OP to that show. What's your favorite smap songs?
Okay to be COMPLETELY honest I know almost none of their songs. I remember being obsessed with "Ganbarimashou!" (that's the one that goes "hey! hey! hey! BOY!" somewhere in it right? haha this was forever ago) but that was before I knew who they were. I seriously had heard of them, but had NO idea who they really were until I got here and started watching Japanese TV....and then I had to investigate them because they are EVERYWHERE and I was like WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!?! I really love Dear Women (I only could remember the 'Welcome! YO-OKOSO Nihon he!' part for the longest time until I downlaoded it, haha) but I can only associate it with this commercial for Shiseido shampoo that's on like 20 times per hour here right now XD. It would fit well for Ouran though

And now I've had the CM where he's all "Terebi yoshi! Antena yoshi! Ore Tsuyoshi!" stuck in my head.
Noooo what will become of SMAP Bistro? Where will we have Tom Cruise now?
(In all seriousness seeing him on the news going in and out of the police station is really sad. He looks pretty grim and maybe even a little scared. I hope SMAP focuses on helping him.)
Yeah luckily we were....fortunate enough to witness the Tom Cruise episode before all this mess....what would our lives be like if we had missed it....
I agree that he looks scared and grim, both. If I didn't know who he was, I almost wouldn't have recognized him in a couple of the shots. Help him out SMAP! Where's za membaah ai???
I know it can easily be explained away by the culture difference and I know I'm being a little ethnocentric by saying this, but um....get over it? There are way bigger problems, lol. American's obsess over celebs sure, but rarely does the govenment give a crap unless they're actually on trial for something bad...like murder....or drug dealing.....though tons of people get away with that too.... -_

Oh don't worry I wasn't directing that last comment at YOU it was at people in general. *thumbs up* And okay, I'll be the first to agree that americans' morals are largely in the toilet these days.....but the Japanese aren't a totally pristine people either. (Themed love hotels. that's all I'm sayin' XD) I just can't decide which is better (or worse?): actually acknowledging the fact that some people are just gross and ignoring it for the most part (since half of them just want publicity anyway) or pretending like it doesn't exist while people have shady, shady private lives? I feel like neither is a particularly good choice. D
