QUESTION:
SO LIKE DR DAVE I WAS AGAIN WONDERING ABOUT EMOISM. IS BEING EMO A BAD THING? PLEASE YOU MUST INFORM US!!!
ANSWER:
Dear young person, "emoism is a "hot topic", one that I had feared to approach due to the political correctness encompassing it, but since you the people asked, I will answer. I believe there are two main types of emoism that we'll call group A, and group B. "Emonites" from group A are the jacked up troubled ones. You can tell that they're from group A if they: run around in tiny leg tight pants, shirts that are to small even for infants, cry for no reason at all, sing terrible sounding songs about people they never will date, have no idea what their meaning on earth is, and wear those ugly little knitt caps. Group A emonites enjoy feeling depressed all the time, are weaklings who can't stand up for themselves, and are just all around losers. Their favorite activities are listening to music that makes them feel even more depressed, sitting in circles crying for some pathetic reason, feeling suicidal, and cutting themselves to releive the pain that they brought upon themselves. This type of emoism the majority of the time is another way of reffering to someone who is bipolar or has some other type of psycholgical disorder. Now to answer your question from a biblical perspective, the simple answer is no. Christians should not be type A emonites-what kind of witness is that! If we try to witness to people by saying Jesus will help take away your pain, and they see us running around like pathetic losers what's that going to say? Seriously people what do you think setting a example is all about? Type A emoism does not in anyway convey the joy of the Lord; it glorifies darkness.
Type B emoism is the normal emoism. It describes one who is thoughtful, sensitive and caring. Type B emoism has nothing to do with feeling depressed suicidal or sad.
I hope this answers your question as you can see this is a very complicated topic. If any of you out there have more questions on this particular subject feel free to ask. And as always keep the questions coming.
