Well, I did what I had to, it's been a while coming, but it has been well earned. Let us just see what hacking the root does for my health and well being.
Leaking waterbeds in the basement really are inconvienent yanno... my mind has schematics for a "hose-shop vac adapter" partially drafted.
THE BEST soup I have ever made, also seems to be the simplest, yeah for yet another culinary invention working.
-1 roasting chicken carcus, with one breast left
-Loblaws has all their food to go stuff on 50% off just before closing, so I picked up all the wings they had left (a meals worth for $2) They were quite spicy and hot, but I ate them, and threw the bones in as well
-1 onion, chopped
-5 cloves of garlic, whole
-beats, washed (unpeeled) and many of them.
let all that sit in the slow cooker for 10 hours or so, strain and remove bones, pull away the beet skin and slice finely.
The beets add amazing flavour, and the hot wings actually made it QUITE spicy, the perfect amount.... it's so yummy, there will not be any leftovers.
Spent a while today working in the backyard... I've lived here for 3 summers, and I just realized today that through effective composting skills, I haven't bagged a single leaf, in fact, I have no leaves even from last fall, I've used them all, and have about 6-8 wheelbarrow loads of compost ready to spread on the gardens post-frost. I still have RASPBERRIES growing which makes me most pleased.
