Rotary celebrations are a blast!!!
Well not really, there was a rotary christmas celebration last night. It started at around 6:00pm and i didnt even get home until 11:10pm last night. There was a presentation that took over a hour and then the food took awhile too, but it was a couple course meal. I think the only good things about the rotary events is the food. Oh and last night i got the chance to meet the 3 outbounds from Düren. I guess one wants to go to Egypt, another Brazil, and the other one Norway. I was really shocked when i first saw the two girls. (two girls, one guy by the way) One looked like she was 13 and i think she even acted like it too. And the other girl also seemed like she was young too. So the whole night i was thinking in my head if they were going to be 16 when they leave, cause they have to be 16 to go to another country with Rotary. The other guy seemed like he was pretty cool and he actually did seem like the age he really was. God, there were so many old Rotarians that wanted to talk to me and almost half the time i couldnt understand a thing they said so i just did the smiling and head nodding thing when they talked to me. Oh and during the presentation there was this one lady singing a solo and i seriously wanted to burst out laughing! She was one of the worst people that i have heard singing. I cant believe they even let her sing those solos. I wonder if she got paid for it....cause i can totally do a better job and i could use the money.
Switching to a different topic, my parents got back from the Philippines yesterday. Which i am glad cause the majority of the whole time they were there i was really worried bout them cause i didnt know where in the Philippines they were and there were typoons going on and over 800 people dead. So yea i am glad they are back safely.
Tonight i get to have dinner with my rotary counselor and his family. I dont know if we are going to eat out or if we are eating at his house. I guess he really isnt that bad of a guy, but i think he really wants me to switch families because my host family right now is "extraordinary" with having no car, tv and them being really healthy and ecological. But i still dont know if i am going to switch or not. Oh when my counselor, his name is Klaus Müller fyi, was taking me home he pointed out to a McDonalds and a Burger King and asked if i was still hungry. Thats really nice of him but it was 11 at night and we did have all that food and he even paided for all of that food too. Maybe he is just trying to be really nice to me. Anyways i will update to say how everything goes tonight.
