My sweet girl

May 31, 2006 10:42

Carson sighed as he sat in his office. A week. They only had a week left with the darling sweet girl who called him Papa. This, as Rodney would say, really sucks. He sighed again and drank some tea, going back to the database and research for his mice.

"heeeey Carson...got the Parrish twins here, looking really unharmed, but with the dazed look I'm starting to connect with ancient devices gone awry--they don't seem to know where they are. Got a few beds to spare?" John's voice comes loud and clear over the comm as he sits up.

"Aye, John, bring them right in. I'll be ready ta hook them up."

He peers around the infirmary as he enters. "H-hi...'s someone here an expert in bodyswapping and amnesia?" The place, and the people hurrying around it, seems vaguely familiar, and he can't help but think that this is somewhere he's spent a lot of time...and he's slightly worried by that, because he's not getting the sense that medicine's really his field, so he certainly doesn't work here.

"Am I accident-prone or just sweet on one of the nurses? This place is far too familiar..." he whispers to his sister.

Saera leans into him without paying attention, a motion her mind recalls, but apparently the body does not--this body is taller than hers, and she nearly leans too hard, sending them both to the floor ( ... )

Carson watches the twins stumble towards him, messy and confused.

"Aye, hop up on these beds, we'll get ye hooked up and take a look. Sadly, I *do* have a wee bit of experience at someone being in the wrong body for a time. How far back d'ye remember?"

Carson got them on the beds and started attaching the EEG leads to their heads. Worse comes to worse, he'll call Radek and Rodney, see what they can do about this again.

Carson tries not to laugh. It was amusing enough when Cadman was in Rodney's head, but to know Kavanagh was kissing his lover's twin sister?

"I'm afraid he's right, lads. Seems they've had a run-in with some Ancient device, and it's switched their bodies. I'm running some tests now, and we'll bring Radek and Rodney in to try and figure out how ta get them back."

"Where's the device? Maybe I should go take a look myself?" He says, turning to Beckett and pulling away from the female looking twin with a thin smile. It's much easier to deal with the doctor directly.

He shook his head, heart sinking as Cal pulled away. This had better be fixable...he didn't like the lack of recognition in his lover's eyes..."We don't know what device it was, it...it w-wiped our memories too..."

She lifts her head from her distracting study of her own (David's) shoes and waves a hand at Dr. Kavanagh.

"I remember a smell, I told Dr. Beckett....burning circuitry..something...shorted out. You know, that smell, the smell we get when something ancient overheats, when the consoles fry. You should be able to find.."

she closes her eyes and winces as she searches for the words, grinning triumphantly when she does.

"you should be able to find a power surge! Or at the very least be able to trace the power discharge, or the heat from the overload, right?"
