Here is a rough quote from an extremely intelligent, well-read, and articulate poster on HP4GU the other day:

Every reader's interpretation of these books is equally valid.

Needless to say, I do not agree with this. If the reader, for instance, skimmed the books and has forgotten half of the contents, I think his or her interpretation has very little validity. I would give equally little validity to the reader who has read the books purely to find support for his or her pro-Monarchy views and disregarded everything else.

Not that I want to associate myself with Mr. Limbaugh in any way, but I am just reactionary enough to believe that some interpretations are more valid than others. (gasp)

Angua, I think you've taken that quote entirely OOC. Why haven't you given us chapter? Why are you trying to hide it? ;)

Dr. C: An amazing post. My language skills are not such that I can effectively communicate it, but I was nodding and thinking, "Yes!" as I read. Nice job.
