Not everyone can or should be attended to in Sickbay. It's a truth he's come to respect over the years. It probably makes him the only remaining Doctor in Star Fleet to make house calls. He minds neither the legwork nor the time. Both ultimately pay off in one way or another

Hearing who it was outside her door, she mentally debates whether tho let him in for a moment. Only the fact that there could be something wrong with one of the others makes her give the command for the door to open.

She raises a worried eyebrow. "Who is it? Who's sick?"

"No one at the moment," he's quick to reassure. "Although I thought you might care for a general report."

[cptn_j_kirk]

Her eyes close momentarily in relief and she nods, gesturing for him to take a seat. "I would, thank you. How are they?"

[dr_boyce]

Which he does. He lowers both bags to the floor. "Responding well. Andrew complained of a rather upset stomach several hours ago so we adjusted his diet to compensate. Everyone save for two are taking their vitamins as prescribed."

"Yeah, you need to go a little easy on Andy. He's the youngest, so I think it'll take longer for his system to get used to normal food. And he gets these really bad coughs when it's cold, you should look at that." Stopping herself before she rambles on, she frowns a little.

"Who isn't?"

[dr_boyce]

"I will." He makes a mental note to make a thorough scan of the boy's respiratory system.

"Justin. And I'm sitting across from the other."

"Right. I'll have a word with him. Make sure he remembers from now on."

[dr_boyce]

"I would appreciate it," he says. Although it isn't exactly the answer he was hoping for. "It might also be of benefit to provide him with a good example."

[cptn_j_kirk]

"He knows better than to stick his nose in my business," she gives him a half-smile. He's a doctor. Not a bad doctor, but still a doctor. And she hates doctors. Almost as much as she hates hypos and pills.

"Pike promised me that I only had to do the initial exam and then I would be off the hook with you," she narrows her eyes at him. While she's beginning to trust the Captain, she has no reason or desire to trust this man. "Are you going to make a liar out of him?"

"The Captain is a good many things. A liar is not one of them," he states. The words are spoken with conviction. He and Pike have been friends for years. "Neither he or I can force you to take the vitamins. But please... consider it."

[cptn_j_kirk]

"I'll consider it," she agrees, but makes no promises to do more than that. If she eats, there isn't really a need for her to take them, right? Right. "I didn't have the impression he was. He's kept his word so far."

[dr_boyce]

"And no doubt he will continue to do so." To the best of his ability. There are always things that fall outside a man's control whether he likes it or not.

With a pointed glance down at his bags, she asks casually. "Decided to bring me a present, or is that one of your famed martinis I've heard so much about? I understand they're customary after a consultation."

[dr_boyce]

"Sometimes they're customary during a consultation. It depends upon the circumstances. This," he gestures to the larger of the two, "contains everything I need to make a hell of a good martini. This," he gestures to the other, "is my medical bag."

[cptn_j_kirk]

"I'll take what's behind door number one in that case," she smirks, having no intention of letting him get near her with what's in his medical bag.

[dr_boyce]

He reaches for the martini case. "How's the bruise on your arm healing?"
