Introduction

I  have a Ph.D. in British Literature, 1789 to present, from the University of North Texas.  I have been teaching at Collin College for seven years.  I live in Frisco, so if you spend a lot of time in Frisco, you are likely to see me out and about. I mostly run into students at Super Target and Tom Thumb, for some unknown reason. It's not because I got those places a lot. Not at all.  I am teaching two classes this summer-- this class and one section of British Literature I.

As you might expect, I love to read, but I also love movies and sci-fi television.  My all-time favorite movie is Edward Scissorhands. I have five cats, but am NOT a crazy cat lady, as I know where to draw the line. I am currently reading A Clash of Kings, by George R. R. Martin. The last movies I saw in the theater were Bridesmaids and The Hangover: Part Two.

I do a lot of different things for the college - not just teaching. I am the faculty advisor for Collin College’s chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta, the English Honor Society for Two-Year Colleges. I also chair the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee, which determines how your Student Activity Fees are used. I also serve on the Disciplinary Appeals Task Force.
