Weight loss this weeK: 1.5 lbs.
Total loss to date: 5.5 lbs.
Left to go: 44.5 lbs.
I FINALLY joined Sparkpeople (ya'll can stop sending me the "join now" emails)...and I'm logging food or whatever. Two items: Drink more water!!! & Get on the elliptical!!! Ugh. Oh! And a third: Serving sizes. WTF? For a toddler???

I'm reminded of an AbFab's Eddy talking about eating less and exercising more: "If was that easy, everybody would do it." Dammit.
On a high note, I moved into my new office yesterday! You should have seen it: four people crammed into a roughly 10x10 office with a giant desk, jankey credenza, two metal bookshelves, and two filing cabinets. Imagine me, under the desk, trying to pull out the furniture slider from the leg when my shoulder spasms. In reaction, I raise up, banging my head, and the metalic "boom" echoes all the way into the main office. Spectacular showing, I must say. Snort.
It's as though I'm officially the fair-haired child, as other adjuncts with 15 years (or more) in are sharing offices and I get my own. Hopefully there won't be too much fall-out from that...but I can't wait around for building services to finish tearing up the floors in the shared office pod. I've got a lab to run and a diss to finish (so I can go TT next year, dammit!) and I simply have no time to just sit around sucking in asbestos.
I have more stuff to move in, but it's already starting to feel like "home" thanks to my dept. secretary and 2 lab assistants who helped me move furniture and boxes. The piglets (fish) have a new home on top of a horizontal file cabinet. I'll need to get a couple folding chairs for students/visitors, as the office is small and over-appointed by file cabinets and shelves c. 1970. I'm not fond of the robin's-egg-blue paint on the walls, but WTH? I have my OWN OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *WHEEEEE*
The glass in the frame holding my BA diploma broke during the move to the new house. I think I'm just going to get four new frames -- 3 matching 11x14's one coordinating one that covers the entire back wall--one for the BA, one for the MA, one for the Grad Cert and the giant frame reserved with a sheet of paper in it that says: "FINISH IT!!!!!!!!!!" to hold that forthcoming PhD diploma.

PS -- I just realized: The same acronym (TT) for tummy tuck and tenure track....coincidence????? I think not. Here's to both of the TT's in 2008!
