The Storm and the Child

Aug 03, 2006 19:55

On my oath, the candle's flame still burneth bright.
A youth sounds the petrified hark
As storms break horizons, interrupting the night.

Thy voice still screams its pleas in fright
And primordial instincts warn of the dark.
On my oath, the candle's flame still burneth bright.

In desperation, thy body takes to flight
But thou art frozen in lightening's jagged spark
As storms break horizons, interrupting the night.

And though truly believes the storm thy cries shall smite?
Though art a fool by the mark.
On my oath, the candle's flame still burneth bright.

Thou screams, "Mankind only learns in hinsight!"
And babbles of floods, animals, and the ark
As storms break horizons, interrupting the night.

Thy cold-seated fear brands thee a neophyte
Shrinking away at the thunder's bark.
On my oath, the candle's flame still burneth bright
As storms break horizons, interrupting the night.
