I love Audra McDonald. Seriously, words cannot express how much I aspire to be like this woman. It's not that she had the most magnificent voice, but it's also the way she lives her life and her personality. I've listened to her Creators At Carnegie Concert from last year at least 5 times now and I still love it. I crack up at all her little jokes and silly anecdote. I actually saw her in concert at Wolf Trap the summer after 10th grade, but I completely didn't appreciate it at the time. I remember hearing her sing "Stars and the Moon" and "Tom" and just being absolutely blown away. Now I just need to see her perform in a show.
On another note: I absolutely cannot wait for that time in the future when I get to have a family. When I was walking home after acting this afternoon in the blizzard, I saw this woman with a tiny little baby in one of those child sack things that you wear across your front. Just the way she was sheltering the child and holding her close to her body as she walked through the storm was so heartwarming.
