Let's consider this the first part of my End of the Semester update.

First things first, I got into Pirates. I am so excited to be in this show . . . again. Oh man, I was one of the daughters in Pirates my sophomore year of high school and now I'm playing one of the daughters in my sophomore year of college. Funny, weird, makes me feel old, and maybe makes me feel a little less accomplished than I would have hoped. I dunno. It's weird. I'm so happy to be in this show at all. I'm so happy to be part of the "ensemble." Would I have liked to have some sort of a named part? Of course. Just gotta keep telling myself not to rush things. After all, I got the lead in my sophomore year of high school and I totally freaked out so maybe being in the ensemble for now is for the best. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, a G&S chorus plays an essential role in the show. I can already tell that this show is going to be way more fun than the opera last year - mostly because we're going to be a lot more involved in the show. Plus I get to hang out with the likes of Nicole, Caroline, Dara, Ryan Scoble, Elvin, and JZR! What's not to like about that? Yeah, Pirates is going to be really really great.

What else? The bulk of my work is now done. I finished my paper and analysis for theory tonight so all I have left are the choir concert tomorrow night, the V&D jury Saturday morning, and the theory final Monday morning. All three of these things should be no sweat. It'll also give me Friday, Saturday after the jury, and Sunday to just kinda chill out and stuff. Of course as soon as my schedule finally clears up and slows down Dan goes home. He left this afternoon. It sucks because we were supposed to hang out for a couple hours between his ConWest final and when I had to leave to go to my voice studio class, but our conwest TA was running behind so I basically just ended up sitting in his room for half an hour watching him pack . . . and yawning the whole time because I was exhausted. Oh, well. Yesterday was really great though. Did I mention that he got the part of George in Our Town? That's the lead for those of you who don't know. Oh, and did I mention that he's an Ed Theatre major and this show is being put on my the Vocal Performance program? Oh, and did I mention that he's a freshman? Yeah, so he's disgustingly talented and I'm incredibly jealous, but I'm also really really proud of him. After we both found out the good news about the shows we went out for dinner and then just chilled for a little while over in Goddard. Really relaxed good times. Where will things go from here? I guess we'll find out after break.

Oh! One more thing! Kristen gave me a MOCO coloring book for Hanukkah!! Best present EVER!

I think that's enough for now. I have to go to bed. It'll be nice to get a good night's sleep for once.

Home on Monday!!! Woohoo!!!
