I know you both have had unfortunate trials with the animals you've loved. I really hope Parker stays healthy and "fighting-fit" to borrow an expression from Pokemon. Listen, it is natural to think about how unfair it is and hurt, because you are now separated from your dear friend. I'm not gonna suggest in anyway that you shouldn't mope. I just believe that in this time there is something else to look at. Yeah, it's easy to think of how horrible it is for a loved-one's life to be cut short. It is also normal to think in the back of your mind of how you wish you had never attached yourself in the first place, so that you wouldn't have to hurt now. But, imagine this, as I know you loved her and she loved you dearly: Imagine a world where you never found her. Without you, she may never have found a home to care for her. As it was part of her genetic make-up she would have still gone into diabetic shock and possibly sooner. She would have died a lonely miserable death without you to love and comfort her.
Kris, as much as she brightened your life, you brightened hers. She lived for seeing you walk through that doorway time after time. It's hard and can seem damn-near impossible, but in time hopefully you will look at her life not as a living tragedy, but instead as a short-lived blessing. It's more important to remember how loved-ones lived than how they died, so that there loving memory can go on. Tyson and I still laugh at the way Sport just devoured anything in his path, regardless of whether or not it was actually edible. So, I am going to go out on a limb and say that I love the way she puked on my overnight bag and proceeded to pretend she didn't or the way she would slap you in the face or try to shush your mom's mouth. She was truly a character. My only regret is that I screwed things up so bad, that I didn't get to spend more time with her. She was a good friend.
