Best. Regionals. Ever.
Ok, I had this really really really long freakin post about regionals but it got deleted. So Im going to try and recap:
1st round: We went against CDO Starfish. They weren't all that great, but I thought we played down a bit...I think it was our worst round, which is accurate because first round is always supposed to be your worst round. Its all good, though.
2nd round: The toughest round we had. It was against UHS Green and started out bad because Jeremy's entire direct got objected to and the judge was a newbie and didnt even let Jeremy try and fight it. We recovered quite nicely, though, and stuck it to them on cross examinations. We went over time and Ashley had to give a 3:45 closing...but she did a great job. Seriously, it was awesome.
Lunch
3rd round: We went against Sahuaro Blue. It was a good round, and we both played well. It was nice to have a smooth one after the objection-fest known as 2nd round. I did my best cross of the day on Masha, and we were way under time, so Ashley got to do her full closing, which was beautiful. This was probably the really fun round of the day because it felt so informal yet...not. It was still good.
4th round: We went against UHS Black. They were decent. Their witnesses sucked and the Dr. Williams totally fucked their case for them by going off on every cross question. She probably lost points for that...bitch. I got to go up and do my best witness of the day, and I got a 10 for it...score! Caitlin got a 10 for her direct even though she says that she sucked. I beg to differ, Caitlin. You rocked the hizzy fer shizzy! I got to say all of my cool one liners...and yes, I even winked at George Palenzuela. I also got the bitchiest look ever from the girl that played Dr. Williams just cuz I called her a cowgirl. Oh yeah, and the judge told us we were "flawless". That's always nice to hear.
Final round: Hoo boy...was I glad we got here. We had to go against...surprise...UHS Black again. Only things were reversed, and I loved it. Why? cuz I wanted to cross the shit out of the hooch who crossed me the previous round. And oh boy did I. The best part was when she started rambling on one of my questions, I just asked her "are you finished?" (props to Lindsey's aunt) and then asked her the question again. Hehehe...I was such a dick, but not as much of a dick as I was to Masha (sorry Masha, that was the points round). I went up and impeached her on recross too...so take that UHS biatch. It was great fun, regionals...the best one I've participated in.
Ceremony- Scariest moment of the day. I was so afraid of getting 2nd again (that would have made it 3 years in a freakin row!) and I didnt want to. Our team worked damn hard and played our hearts out. 2 years of tripping over the finish line was bad enough, but 3 times? I was so damn nervous. And then, they called UHS Black for 2nd...and I closed my eyes. Jeremy jumped on me and hugged me...and then we went out and got the trophy. Damn that was the best...and I now know how great it truly feels to be first. It freakin rocks!
Epilogue- After regionals, we went to Ruddfuckers. It was so fun. I sat with J.S., George, Jenna, Jessi...and we just sat around and talked about things that had happened, bands coming to town, the one pound burger I was attempting to eat...all of it rocked! REGIONALS ROCKED THIS YEAR! YEAH! What a great way to go...
