So since I last wrote in my LJ, I realized that quite a bit has happened and I should update those of you that don't often hear from me here. So here it is.
Since my last post, I drove up to Portland, OR and stayed for a week and a half with Leif and his family. His family includes his wife, Melissa and his three kids, Joshua, Olivia and Daniel. On one of those nights, Leif and some of his co-workers and I had a "geek night" where they spent most of the night rewiring one of the cars to have special lights in the grill and I spent most of the night tearing apart electronic gadgets down to their base components.
While in Portland, I visited the Portland Zoo and Multnomah Falls. If you've never seen Multnomah Falls, you really should. It is amazingly beautiful. Also while in Portland, I played many many hours of Fable II and did almost nothing important whatsoever. It was pretty awesome.
On my return trip to Redding, I swung by the Safari Park in Winston, OR. It's a drive-through zoo, basically. I had to suddenly break at one point to avoid hitting their giraffe and at another point had my car washed by an elephant. It was pretty awesome.
Not too long after that, I drove out to Fernley, NV to pick up Danielle and take her back to San Francisco. Being without a car is a difficult situation when you're far away from people that are usually willing to give you rides around town and all that, so I offered to go rescue her. It was a good trip, though once we got to San Francisco, I confirmed the fact that I hate hate hate city driving. At least, on a schedule, I do. If I have no place to be at any certain time, it's really not that bad.
The day before I left for NV, I was hanging out with some friends and had a tarot reading. Ashley (Jessie's girlfriend) is apparently a professional tarot reader. After having my reading, I can see why. She knew things no one in the group knew about me. She talked about things that I was thinking about and she knew names and locations and really in-depth details that she couldn't have possibly known. It was pretty mind-blowing, really. Some of the things she told me about really bother me. Things for the future. Choices I will have to make. I don't like knowing that I have to deal with things like that. She had three different decks and told me to choose one. I put my hand over each one and over the one I ended up having her use, I felt a tingling sensation in my hand. Over neither of the other ones did I feel anything. I even went back to the other two to confirm the feeling and it really was only over the one I had her use.
It was interesting, she told me I was going to have to focus in order for her to see past the walls that I had up. Walls I never intentionally put up, I guess. I mean, I'm pretty open to all my friends, so I didn't really have any issues with her knowing things about me. I don't really have any deep dark secrets, anyway. In focusing, I had to push so much energy towards her to allow her to read me that at the end of the reading, my hands and my forearms actually ached because there had been so much energy flowing through them towards her. She said that in all the years she has done this, I was the second hardest to read ever. And that was AFTER I had started to drop my walls to make it easier for her. I wonder if there is some childhood trauma that I blocked out deep in the recesses of my mind. I don't know.
I guess that the tarot reading is really the most significant thing that has happened since I last wrote in my LJ, but I've actually done quite a bit elsewhere. I bought a couple of movies. I went to a couple of movies in the theater. I got new front tires on my car. I signed up a new person for Eiro. I got lost in San Francisco and then found my way again. I ate a few foods I'd never tried before. Within this week, I expect my car to hit 100,000. The birds that were hatched in a nest made in the wreath on the front door have flown away. A new nest just several feet away from that nest has eggs in it now. That nest is in the eaves above the door. I mean, lots of stuff has happened and some of it has been pretty significant, but also a lot of it just seems like ordinary life. At any rate, despite all the extra sleep I got today, I'm starting to feel tired again. I hope I haven't caught anything from my travels. I haven't been sick since November thanks to Eiro. Though I have gotten food poisoning once since November, but that has nothing to do with a good immune system, so I can still say that Eiro works wonders.
Goodnight internet. Not sure when I'll write again, as usual.
