Teapots, teapots everywhere!

You asked for it! Since some of you appreciated my teacup collection, it’s only fair that I give attention to my teapots as well. Here we have…

Shamrock Teapot and Accouterments - This was my very first teapot! My mum bought it for me at a shop at the local Christmas fair from a vendor who sold goodies from the land of Eire. The milk jug was picked up somewhere along the way and didn’t fit in anywhere else. I bought the tea strainer online; it is essential for keeping chunks of loose leaf tea out of my cups whenever I brew without a bag!

Elegant Bird China - This lovely set was a Christmas present from my aunt, and it is fanciness incarnate. It’s a little smaller than my shamrock teapot, so I use it when I want to brew a batch for two rather than 3 or 4. Or, you know, when I want to feel really classy :)

Cast Iron Cherry Blossoms - The same aunt who gave me the bird china gave me this lovely little set. It sadly does not see as much use as the previous two, but it’s beautiful for display and for those times when I really want a nice light green tea or a matcha.

Enamel Peacock Set - Two of my best friends found this set at an estate sale and picked it up for me. It’s decorated with an image of a stylized peacock in gold paint and has 6 rather than 4 cups. More fun for all!

Wizard Owl Teapot - Yep, that’s a teapot! My Aunt B bought it for me at Home Goods a few years ago. We initially thought it was a statuette until we picked it up, and realized it was a teapot; at that point, she knew it was for me.The book is the spout, and his hat comes off and becomes the lid!

World Market Chic - This small pot is perfect for those times that I want more than a mug but less than a whole pot of tea. Great for sipping on my own, it came to me with six beautiful dessert plates that see a lot of use in my house.

Purple Peonies Set - Last but not least, this little pot-and-cup set was on on display in my gran’s home up until she moved into assisted living. It came to live with me, and although it’s chiefly a decorative piece now, it deserves to be included nevertheless.
