I picked up THE CUTEST fabric at Hancock's today. I got a full yard, and when I rolled it out I realized that I couldn't bear to cut it up. I'm thinking that I'll turn it into a play pad for my sister - she's not due until May, but it would be something to give her for Christmas that she can have ready for my newest little niece.
I want to pick up another yard of cotton, probably something solid or with a very subtle pattern. I'm thinking a light blue or turquoise, and then I can use a brown or something similar to bind it. I'll use quilt batting between the layers, but then I'd like to quilt it up somehow. My worry is that any quilting I do will obstruct the super-totally-awesome-cute forest animals. Is there a way around this? Perhaps a color thread that wouldn't look too obtrusive? A pattern for quilting that leaves big enough gaps that the images would still be crisp and clear?
