Not funny is like *THIS* -- >:-(
I have a bone to pick with Moffit, but in his absence, I'm going to vent to you. But in the absence of anything like coherency to my thoughts or the motivation (at 12:37 in the morning), I'm going to form my "complaints" into a list. And so:
1) What is up with the "taking brides away on the day/night before their weddings" theme? Is this significant? Why did we have to bring this back up?
2) SO MANY PLOTHOLES IN "FLESH AND STONE"!! Like why couldn't the angels tell that Amy couldn't see them? I thought that the idea was that they didn't really "exist" unless they were completely out of sight. Well, it's rather hard to be tricked into thinking you don't exist by a girl with her eyes shut fumbling around in the dark.
3) This crack on the wall. It was vague enough in the first episode, but now we're calling it "the end of time"? It wasn't the end of the time when we first saw it: it was a crack in time, yes, but on the other side was a prison, and Prisoner Zero came out. Now we've decided it's something else entirely? Moffit sure seems to be going through enough trouble to make it known that it's THE same crack that Amy had in her wall as a kid. So WTF??
4) River Song? Still hate her. But yeah, I can handle her being the one who kills the Doctor. What I have a problem with is the way she's jumping all the heck around his timeline. How can she do that? Not possible!
5) If River is going to be the one to kill him, I have to assume they mean this particular incarnation. Because they're taking a big risk, assuming that she'll be around in two or three more seasons, right? But she's all "when you're older," claiming she knows all of his incarnations. Yet another plot-hole that I have me less than confident in Moffit's ability to plan for anything long term.
6) SO! If time can be rewritten, and Amy doesn't remember the Daleks or the Cybermen which Rose and 10 existed through... what does that mean? Was Rose not with the Doctor then? Have they screwed up all sorts of past companions with this bizarre "nothing is the same" schpiel? I don't like it, and it makes me nauseous.
7) Finally, and most importantly at this particularly moment in my fandom life: WHY IS AMY POND SUCH A SLUT?? Why did Moffit have to go there? What was he THINKING? Was he thinking? They had such a good thing going, playing up the Father/Daughter (or at least Crazy Uncle/Beloved Niece) angle; now we're bordering on incest, and I'll hate him forever if he makes her into just one more human whose in love with a Doctor she's hardly even traveled with! Infatuation, OK. But dude, I'll give Martha this: at least she never tried to *rape* him! Sheesh! She'd better have had a temporary lapse in judgment, or be really and truly mad, because I do NOT like where is going and I WILL protest!
